Artificial intelligence is no longer just fiction that we can only read about in books. The application of AI came and settled in our lives, it studied the minds of humans and that was one of its valued abilities, but its main aim and mission were to enhance the capabilities of human beings. Guarneri (n.d.) states that It went about that by streamlining tasks and analysing data so that it could generate excellent ideas based on their needs.

However, public relations practitioners cannot just use AI anyhow because the implications of artificial intelligence are high (Though not as high as the unemployment rate in South Africa๐Ÿ‘€.). Therefore, public relations practitioners must ensure that they use AI ethically and responsibly to build a relationship with the public. Now, we must not forget, that staying relevant and updated is a crucial part of public relations as the practitioners need to create campaigns that resonate with their audiences just as Staff (n.d.) emphasises.

The virtual world aims to make a revolution in everything from work interactions to social interactions. The whole idea of the metaverse and the virtual world provides tons of opportunities for public relations practitioners. Imagine having to invite influencers and journalists to showcase your brand in the comfort of your home via virtual reality, Ramanunni (2023) likes to describe it as being in a room full of people without actually being there, cool right? I know!

But then, one of the most upbringing questions is, " Does the metaverse mean the end of PR?" Absolutely not, in fact, News (2022) says that it indeed creates a lot of possibilities and opportunities for the PR sector.

The Future Has Arrived: But what does that mean for us?

    1. The best way to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to these trends is by learning consistently. By learning, you discover new things every day, and that just helps you know what is in trend and what is outdated.
